Total RNA Isolation

A unique feature of the STRATEC Molecular RNA Kits is the selective removal of genomic DNA from the lysate before RNA purification This step eliminates the hassle and cost of DNase digestion, which is generally required with kits from other suppliers to avoid interference of DNA in RT-PCR reactions.

Advantages:

  • high-quality total RNA from different starting materials
  • DNA removal without expensive DNase digestion
  • time saving and convenient handling
  • high, reproducible yields
  • accurate, reliable gene expression data
  • versatile use - parallel RNA and protein isolation, RNA and DNA isolation, RNA CleanUp from Trizol phases

Workflow

The InviTrap RNA kits combine an efficient, stringent lysis and an inactivation of endogenous and exogenous RNases with the selective removal of genomic DNA by binding at the surface of the mineral carrier particles provided within the provided Lysis Solutions and simultaneously to the lysis of the starting material. Selective binding of the DNA is assured by optimized buffer conditions and the mineral carrier particles loaded with the genomic DNA are removed by spin down or by centrifugation on the spin filter surface. The RNA remains in the supernatant in the filtrate and is - after the adjustment of special binding conditions- bound onto the membrane of the RNA-RTA Spin Filter. Contaminants are removed by repeated washing steps and the purified total RNA which is almost free of DNA contaminations can be eluted in a small volume of RNase free water.

Products which are CE-marked according to the IVD-Directive (Directive 98/79/EC on in vitro diagnostic medical devices) can be used for diagnostic applications in countries where this directive is recognized.
